PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device having a plurality of arrays of recording elements, wherein the recording device has a simplified circuit and a simplified wire arrangement for transferring recording information to the recording elements. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the recording device, the recording elements are arranged in the plurality of arrays according to ink colors, and a flexible wiring board 37 is drawn in a direction orthogonal to the arrays. The flexible wiring board 37 has connecting electrodes 52k, 52c, 52y, 52m corresponding to the respective recording elements. Then a recording information item corresponding to each recording element is read from a buffer memory provided for each ink color, beginning from an almost end one of each array of the recording elements through the plurality of arrays, in the order of 52m1, 52c1, 52k1, 52y1, 52m2, 52c2, 52k2, 52y2, etc., and then serially output. Further the serially output recording information items are parallel-converted according to the above order of the recording elements, and then the recording elements in the respective arrays are driven.
