PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which a high-gain UHF antenna is mounted on a satellite by a simple method, which has been not easy because a shape of a prior art high-gain UHF band antenna is large. SOLUTION: A line-shaped or a thin stick-shaped antenna element is mounted on a satellite external surface along a structure through a high-frequency insulator to form an end fire antenna. Since a diameter of the antenna element is small and a mounting position has flexibility, interference between solar battery mounted on the satellite external surface, various sensors and the like, and the antenna element can be avoided. Accordingly, it becomes possible to easily mount a high-gain UHF band directional antenna on a satellite, whose mounting has been conventionally difficult. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
