PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network facsimile system enabling a plurality of communication terminals to transmit/receive facsimile images to/from a device outside the system via a relay server without allowing the users of a transmission source and a transmission destination to be conscious of the presence of the relay server. SOLUTION: In the network facsimile system, the telephone number provided in the relay server 1 is assigned to the communication terminals 2, 3. In transmitting images from the communication terminals 2, 3 to transmission destinations 7, 8 outside the system, the images are transmitted to the transmission destinations 7, 8 outside the system using the telephone number assigned to each of the communication terminals 2, 3 as a calling number. If the images are transmitted to the server 1 from the transmission sources 7, 8 outside the system, the communication terminals 2, 3 to be transfer destinations are specified on the basis of the telephone number assigned to each of the communication terminals 2, 3 and an incoming call number, and the images are transferred to each of the communication terminals 2, 3.
