摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device and an image display medium capable of light multicolor display with high resolution and a high contrast. SOLUTION: A scan for applying an alternating voltage between a column electrode 12 of a surface substrate 10 of the image display medium 2 and row electrodes 22A to 22F of a back substrate 20 is made in the gravitational direction and then particles 32 and 33 present at pixels between the driven row electrodes and column electrode 12 move in the gravitational direction, so the color of a colored layer 23 can be displayed with a high contrast.
