PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of surely separating papers, by preventing the paper from being wrapped around a fixing member and a pressuring member. SOLUTION: A paper, passed through a fixing nip, is guided to a suction member 12 on the side of a fixing roller 6 or another suction member 12 on the side of a pressure roller 10 by a branching member 20. Air intake devices 13 are actuated to suck air from the suction ports of the suction members 12 via communicating pipes 14 and to suck the paper. This prevents paper from being wrapped around a fixing belt 8 or a pressure roller 10 and ensures separation of papers. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
