PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod case reduced in weight, not causing crushing and excellent in impact resistance and to provide a method for producing the fishing rod case. SOLUTION: The fishing rod case is characterized by providing a melt-cured part in at least either one of the surface and the rear of a foamed material sheet forming a case body. The fishing rod case 2 is characterized by retaining the shape of the case body by the melt-cured part in the fishing rod case. The method for producing the fishing rod case comprises cutting a sheet composed of a foamed material, melting and curing the sheet by heating at least one of the surface and the rear of the sheet, bending the sheet in cylindrical shape to form a case body and attaching a bottom cap in the bottom of the case body.
