Manual rotation of a steering wheel in alternating directions for calibration and adjustment purposes by use of a combined dynamic friction sensor and turning force application tool

Method for turning a steering wheel of a motor vehicle, especially for adjustment and calibration purposes, whereby the steering wheel (1) is turned sequentially in an alternating fashion in opposite directions with an approximately unchanged torque. A dynamic friction sensor (2) is pressed against the steering wheel rim (1a) in a position that is not radially aligned with the steering wheel center. An independent claim is made for a device for rotating a steering wheel for adjustment and calibration purposes.
