An assembly transfers a container (42) load of bulk solid grains to another process. The transfer is effected by a hydraulic (46) ram (44) which advances the bulk solid grains towards a rotating upright conical (20) mixer which removes grains from the advancing bulk mass and liberates these into a helical discharge conveyer.
