PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner restricted in the generation of vibration when a refrigeration cycle load is high and improved in the maximum heating ability when the refrigeration cycle load is low by supplying the optimal current phase to a motor. SOLUTION: This air conditioner is provided with a compressor driving motor (not expressed in a figure) to be driven by an operation frequency variable motor (not expressed in the figure), and current phase of the motor is controlled on the basis of outdoor heat exchanger temperature Toeva and indoor heat exchanger temperature Ticond and operation frequency of the motor. For example, high pressure is nearly estimated on the basis of the indoor heat exchanger temperature Ticond, and low pressure is nearly estimated on the basis of the outdoor heat exchanger temperature Toever, and circulation quantity is nearly estimated on the basis of the operation frequency of the motor to estimate the refrigeration cycle load. When the estimated refrigeration cycle load is high, timing advance of the phase of the motor current is weakened to restrict vibration, and when the estimated refrigeration cycle load is low, timing advance of the phase of the motor current is maximized to raise the operation frequency of the motor, and the maximum heating ability can be improved.
