PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving weak soil whereby compression strength of the weak soil having a compression strength of <0.1 N/mm<SP>2</SP>is improved and elution of heavy metals can be inhibited. SOLUTION: Fifty kg of a granulated blast-furnace slag is mixed into 1 m<SP>3</SP>of the weak soil having a compression strength of <0.1 N/mm<SP>2</SP>. Together with the granulated blast-furnace slag, unslaked lime and/or slaked lime is mixed in an amount corresponding to 10-50% of the mass of the granulated blast-furnace slag.
