<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing ink that can change color by heating and/or application of a solvent. <P>SOLUTION: This color-changeable printing ink is obtained by dispersing in a vehicle colored polymer particulates with an average particle size of not more than 1μm, the particulates being obtained by polymerization of a mixture of a pigment, leuco pigment, color developing agent,α,β-unsaturated monomer and polymerization initiator in water and in the presence of a polymerizable surfactant. The average particle size of the colored polymer particulates in the ink is not more than 1μm.
