PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen generation system which meets various needs of patients. SOLUTION: An oxygen concentration system 1 is operated by a connecting mode and a non-connecting mode which include a portable oxygen generator unit 3 and a stationary base unit 5. In one embodiment, an oxygen-rich gas is generated by the portable unit in the connecting mode, transferred to the stationary base unit, and the produced oxygen-rich gas is transferred from the stationary unit to the user. The stationary base unit provides boost of a pump or additionally supplied air to enhance a generation rate of the oxygen-rich gas in the portable unit. The stationary base unit can also include a stationary air separation device. The produced gas coupled with the flow is humidified in the stationary base unit. Further, in the connecting mode, the humidified oxygen gas is coupled with the flow of the non-humidified oxygen-rich gas from the portable unit outside of the base unit and discharged as the produced oxygen-rich gas.
