PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To concurrently achieve improvements of power and efficiency by laminating in the advance direction. SOLUTION: A movable element train 2 forms a permanent magnet train 6. A stator train 1 forms protruding magnetic pole trains 3, 4, 5. Three-phase winding trains 8, 9, 11 are disposed and provide a magnetomotive force to the protruding magnetic pole trains 3, 4, 5. The movable element train 2 and the stator train 1 form a first closed phase magnetic flux 13 passing through two pairs of first permanent magnet elements 6-1, 6-4 of the permanent magnet train 6 and two of first protruding magnetic pole element 4-1, 4-2 of the protruding magnetic pole trains 3, 4, 5, and form a second closed phase magnetic flux 14 passing through two pairs of first permanent magnet elements 6-3, 6-5 of the permanent magnet train 6 and two of second protruding magnetic pole element 3-2, 3-1 of the protruding magnetic pole trains 3, 4, 5. Two or more magnetic thrust generating magnetic fluxes for generating a thrust in the advance direction are made to polyphase in the advance direction. An advantage of a three-phase control in the rotational direction is utilized for a three-phase control in the linear direction. The large thrust can be obtained by the same frame.
