PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device that can reduce variation of a light emission spectrum depending upon an angle at which a light guide-out surface is viewed and stop impurity diffusion from a substrate to a thin-film transistor. SOLUTION: The light emitting device is provided with the substrate, a 1st insulating layer provided on the substrate, the transistor provided on the 1st insulating layer, and a 2nd insulating layer having a 1st opening provided so that the transistor is covered and the substrate is exposed, a light emitting element being provided inside the 1st opening.
