PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems of improving privacy of a residence, coping with a higher multistoried building by making elevator available when the elevator is stopped by inspection or the like, and making access by elevator always available, at the same time. SOLUTION: The multiple dwelling house has at mutually separated positions elevating parts 10a, 10b composed respectively of the elevator 11 to be stopped at each story and a stairs 12. A plurality of residences 21, 22 are determined as one residence block 20 and the residences are grouped into a plurality of residence blocks 20a, 20b. Elevating parts 10a, 10b are exclusively and respectively assigned to the residence blocks, and a separated residence block is provided per the elevating part. Stories A where the elevating parts are not connected and horizontal movement of people are blocked between the elevating parts 10a, 10b are provided. The two elevating parts 10a, 10b are connected with each other through a common corridor 30 at every suitable story A, and story B where the elevating parts are connected with each other and horizontal movement is available between the elevating parts 10a, 10b is provided.
