PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof polyester woven fabric excellent in ultraviolet light-screening properties and washing durability, having tear strength in such a level as not to practically cause problems, having a soft feeling, thin, and lightweight. SOLUTION: This ultralightweight waterproof polyester woven fabric is formed out of polyester filament yarn, wherein the fabric has a basis weight of≤75 g/m<SP>2</SP>, a water resistant pressure of≥700 mmH<SB>2</SB>O, a water resistant pressure retention ratio after washing of≥50%, and a sum of a warp cover factor and a weft cover factor, or a ratio of the warp cover factor to the weft cover factor, of a specific value and is excellent in the ultraviolet light-screening properties.
