PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for patterning a tufted carpet, comprising switching a pile yarn-feeding quantity to express the pattern, by which such a fine pattern as switching the pattern for each one stitch or two stitches can also simply be expressed. SOLUTION: This method for producing the tufted carpet comprises setting a pile-feeding quantity for each one stitch with a servo motor controlled with a computer to tuft the pile yarn. Thereby, the tufting operation can be switched from a high pile to a low pile or from a low pile to a high pile within two stitches, and the tufted carpet having a fine geometric pattern which could not have been realized with a conventional weaving/knitting machine can be obtained.
