PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a dismantlement of an molten iron tapping hole in a blast furnace etc., for short time. SOLUTION: A method for dismantling the molten iron tapping hole, is performed as the followings, by which over the dismantling schedule range of refractories constituting a furnace wall 3 around the molten metal tapping hole faced to a molten metal tapping trough 2 arranged on a casting floor 1, after digging plurality of digging holes 4 having a prescribed diameter D and prescribed length from the outer surface side of the furnace wall 3, the dismantlement is performed by crushing the remained refractories 5 between both adjoined dug holes 4. In the case of applying this method, since the amount of the remained refractories 5 in this dismantling scheduled range is made to be the extremely little amount to the dismantling scheduled amount by beforehand digging the plurality of the digging holes 4, the necessary time is made to be shorter in comparison with the dismantlement of the refractories by using the conventional drill type dismantling device.
