PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for gathering improved X-ray image data by using a digital X-ray detector. SOLUTION: A group of a scanning line is defined in the detector (810), and a data line of the detector is associated to the group of the scanning line (820), and the image data are read out of the group of the scanning line by using the associated data line (850). The scanning line is connected to a plurality of picture elements, and can define an interest area in the detector. The picture elements acquire the image data on the interest area. The image data can be read out of at least one scanning line of the respective groups of the scanning line by using the associated data line. Or the image data can be read out of alternating groups of the scanning line by using the associated data line.
