PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game medium hoisting apparatus which enables its building using the component parts such as a drive means with the optimum design and performance not confined to those enabling the extreme miniaturization and its thinner shape without restricting the mounting of other parts within the body of a game machine nor expanding the range between the game machines unreasonably. SOLUTION: The body 101 of the hoisting device which is provided outside the game machine 10 separately from this machine 10 is arranged behind the rear of this machine 10 and below this machine 10. While a discharge shutter 220 is closed by a control means 300, drive means 110 and 130 are driven to transfer the pachinko balls along a transfer path 200 and when the number of the pachinko balls put out detected by a ball-count detection means 210 reaches the prescribed value, a drive solenoid 221 is driven to open the discharge shutter 220 thereby enabling the discharge of the pachinko balls into a discharge path 207 anywhere in the course of the transfer path 200.
