PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor-driven opening / closing device for a curtain for opening and closing the curtain by motor drive and hand pulling with simple constitution. SOLUTION: The motor-driven opening / closing device for the curtain connects and disconnects a clutch mechanism G by the operation of a solenoid MS and transmits the output of a motor M through the clutch mechanism G to a curtain traction part. The solenoid MS moves a movable core 26 toward a lower magnetic pole plate 25 with magnetic force and moves a movable shaft 13 to the on position of the clutch mechanism G by normal direction energizing to a lower coil 21b, and moves the movable core 26 toward an upper magnetic pole plate 24 with the magnetic force and moves the movable shaft 13 to the off position of the clutch mechanism G by normal direction energizing to an upper coil 21a, and the magnetic force of a permanent magnet 20 acts on the upper and lower magnetic pole plates 24 and 25 at all times.
