<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably and quickly detect a predetermined object in a digital image. <P>SOLUTION: A normal face detection part 10 subjects a photographic image S0 to processing for detecting a normal face. A spectacled face detection part 20 subjects the photographic image S0 in which the normal face detection part 10 has detected no face, to processing for detecting a spectacled face.
