<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic device capable of improving the convenience by enabling a snap off module once separated from a card body to be returned to the card body for reuse and, eliminating the danger of losing a module. <P>SOLUTION: A contact type IC card 1 comprises a chip card 4 having an IC module 2 and a card adaptor 6. The card adaptor 6 has a mounting hole 8 for attachably and detachably mounting the chip card 4.
