COATING COMPOSITION, COATED ITEM, OPTICAL MEMBER AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating composition which can provide a coated item having an excellent dispersion stability of particles and excellent optical diffusivity.

SOLUTION: The coating composition is obtained by blending composite particles with a binder solution containing a binder resin and a solvent. The composite particles comprise polymer particles derived from a polymerizable vinyl monomer and a silica film provided on the surfaces of the polymer particles so as to expose at least a part of the surfaces of the polymer particles. The silica film comprises a condensate of a polyalkoxysiloxane oligomer.
