PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure following performance in opening and closing operation, make the system compact, and heighten the supporting rigidity of a control shaft after the lift amount of an engine valve is continuously varied. SOLUTION: One end parts of first and second link arms 58, 59 are rotatably connected to a rocker arm 31 interlocked and connected to an engine valve to follow a valve cam 29, the other end part of the first link arm 58 is rotatably supported in a fixed position of the engine body 11 through a fixed support shaft 57, and the other end part of the second link arm 58 is rotatably supported by a movable support shaft 60, and a driving means is connected to a control shaft 61 formed like a crank and connected to the movable support shaft 60 and supported on the engine body to be rotated round the axis parallel to the axis of the movable support shaft 60.
