PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a nursing lifter which enables the proper adjustment of the care recipient to the optimum attitude without the help of the attendant after sitting. SOLUTION: The nursing lifter which hoists up a subject person with a hoisting belt to move to a plurality of locations has a sitting detector 105 for detecting the sitting of the subject person on the seat surface and belt controllers 112 and 113 for winding or delivering the hoisting belt. When the sitting of the subject person on the seat surface is detected by the sitting detector 105, the belt controllers control the hoisting belt to shift the center of gravity of the subject person in the direction of his back.
