<p>Method and apparatus for optimizing registration and paging in a group communication system use mobility of the mobile stations to minimize the frequency of registrations performed by the mobile stations as well as the area of paging the mobile stations. When the mobile stations have a low mobility status, the base station reduces the area of paging the mobile stations so that the paging channel load is reduced.</p> |
