MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR MODIFIED ION EXCHANGER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a modified ion exchanger that can be served as a catalyst having further excellent function in the production of bisphenol A.

SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method for the modified ion exchanger, which is obtained by reacting an acid ion exchanger with a modifier consisting of a mercapto alkyl pyridine compound or a derivative whose mercapto group is protected, and modifying at least a part of the acid group with the mercapto alkyl pyridine compound, the modification reaction is started after mutually contacting the acid ion exchanger and the modifier of the emulsion state.
