<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous secondary battery whereby self discharge is suppressed, charge and discharge efficiency is improved, and high capacity and high energy density can be achieved. <P>SOLUTION: A positive electrode contains a sulfur element. A nonaqueous electrolyte contains electrolyte comprising a nonaqueous solvent and electrolyte salt comprising metal salt. The electrolyte salt comprises lithium salt, calcium salt, magnesium salt, or the like. The electrolyte salt contains a bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imido anion or a triflate anion.
