<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information distribution system in a local area such as inside of a premises and inside of a shop which an unspecified user terminal enters / leaves wherein a plurality of terminals in a sub network selectively receives desired information respectively without the need for installation of a particular protocol. <P>SOLUTION: A distribution server 13 distributes channel information wherein contents of data distributed in the sub net 19 and a multicast IP address usable by each user terminal (STAn) are cross-referenced by using a broadcast IP address, each terminal (STAn) selects desired distribution data from the channel information received by broadcasting, sets and uses the multicast IP address for filtering in an IP layer and receives the distributed data by using the selected and set multicast IP address.
