PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a temperature-sensitive element from being damaged, while keeping the responsiveness of the temperature-sensitive element. SOLUTION: In this temperature sensor 1 provided with the temperature-sensitive element 2, a bottomed cylindrical protection tube 3 for covering the temperature-sensitive element 2, and a housing 4 for holding an opening end side outside diameter of the protection tube 3, the wall thickness of the protection tube 3 is 0.1mm-0.5mm, a protection tube holding part 44 having a thickness of two-four times of the wall thickness in the protection tube is provided in the housing, and 5d≤l≤10d is satisfied, where d is the outside diameter of the protection tube, and L is the tip-side length farther toward the tip side than the protection tube holding part of the protection tube.
