PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding sash locking device ideal for crime prevention by automatically performing locking operation, interlocked with sash closing operation. SOLUTION: In a sliding sash closed by moving a sash d toward a door stop 12 of a window frame w, either one of a door end stile part piece of the sash d and the door stop 12 is provided with an L-shaped stop piece 13, and the other is provided with a locking piece 6 of inverted L-shape to the L-shape of the stop piece 13, projecting relatively so that the respective tips are positioned to be engaged/disengaged going over each other when opening/closing the sash. The locking piece 6 is operative from the outside and protrusively provided at a vertical moving member 15 attached to the other, and a coil spring 18 for energizing the vertical moving member 15 in a direction of locking the locking piece 6 to the stop piece 13 is interposed between the vertical moving member 15 and the other.
