PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily constructible structure for providing a top-railed sliding door in a hanging state, which can easily absorb variations in indoor height, caused by unevenness in a ceiling plane, by the simple construction adjustment of an upper rail. SOLUTION: This structure for providing the top-railed sliding door in the hanging state makes a door body 2 slidably supported on the upper rail 4 in a hanging state. An elastic member 5 is interposed on the top surface of the upper rail 4 for sliding a roller 3 which is rotatably journaled on the upper end of the door body 2. The upper rail 4 is screwed toward the ceiling surface 7 from a downside. The upper rail 4 is formed in an approximate U-shape in a cross-sectional view, so that protrusive strips for concealing the elastic member 5 in a side view can also be formed on both the sides of a connecting piece of the upper rail 4 in such a manner as to be in a lower position than the elastic member 5.
