PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and smoothly assembly a constant velocity universal joint by preventing the diameter of the inner end section of a hub (first inner member) from shrinking. SOLUTION: When assembling a hub unit, an inner ring (second inner member) 12 is forced into a small-diameter step section 15 of the hub (first inner member) 8. Then, the inner periphery surface of an axial hole 11 of the hub (first inner member) 8 is subjected to broach machining, thus forming an internal serration section 10 extended axially as a finished product.
