PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration absorbing device which is applied in a wide range of fields other than a roll system and reduced in size, in view of the fact that there is no fundamental countermeasures in the site against a pattern formation phenomenon caused by a contact roll system vibration in the industry, and if the pattern formation phenomenon is generated, a product suffers fatal damage or an upper limit of a line speed has to be set. SOLUTION: The variable stiffness dynamic vibration absorbing device comprises: at least a pair of long stiff bodies with the same stiffness which are positioned at right angle with respect to a linear vibration direction of a vibration body or in a rotational shaft direction of a rotary vibration body, and have a relationship in parallel with each other; a vibration absorbing body which is attached to the vibration body and to which one ends of the long stiffness bodies are rotatably installed; a weight to which the other ends of the long stiffness bodies are rotatably installed; and a stiffness coefficient changing mechanism for variably adjusting rotation angles of the long stiffness bodies in a plane symmetry state or in a parallel relationship.
