PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a bush capable of reducing danger creating crack between a backing metal and a bearing layer and preventing an outer circumference surface of the bush from being manufactured in a saddle shape in which a center section in an axial direction slightly sinks from both end parts. SOLUTION: In this method for manufacturing the bush, a plate like workpiece is formed by cutting a beltlike workpiece provided with backing metal and bearing layer into a predetermined length L, and the plate like workpiece 2 is formed in a cylinder shape by bending both end part to align each other. A center part in a width direction of at least one end part 4 of the plate like workpiece 2 is projected. A shape of the end part 4 can be formed in a trapezoid or an arc.
