PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber to admit simple mounting of a bracket at low cost without requiring any special post-processing etc. SOLUTION: The shock absorber is formed from an outer tube 2 where a bracket 15 for mounting components associated with a sensor, brake hose, etc. is mounted and a damper 3 inserted into the outer tube 2, wherein the brackets 15 is formed by cutting and raising part of the trunk part of the outer tube 2 in the horizontal direction.
