t is described herein a locking device designed for sliding doors and windows made from aluminium or like materials. There are proposed alternative installation methods of the latch bolt 2 engagingthe sliding panel, including auxiliary installationaccessories and variants of constructing and placing the latches of the strike plate 1. One or several characteristics should be satisfied: a) contact of the latch bolt with the front walls of the sliding panel and enhanced resistance against forcing; b) coupling of the latch bolt with the operational mechanism of the lock through the spring axle and automatic retraction of this last in case of involuntary collision with the strike plate; c) plural elements housed into the latch bolt section liable to engage into the strike plate. It is alsodescribed a variant of an autonomously installed and adjustable strike plate bolt used in encasements furnished with a front channel.
