Micro-dosing device has a plunger (2) with an entrainment area (3) for a spatially limited liquid amount which is dipped in a liquid (11) reservoir (4). When the plunger is inserted it leaves a small defined transverse cross-section area between it and the side walls (8) of the reservoir. The effect of the surface tension of the liquid is such that the amount of liquid entrained by the plunger is reproducible. The invention also relates to a corresponding method for the application of a spatially limited liquid amount.
