Water soluble salt cores for die casting obtained by compression at a pressure of 300-900 N/ m>m, and sintering of a mixture of water soluble salts containing (parts by weight):borax (4-5), Mg(2-3), graphite or talc (0.5-2) per 100 parts by weight of salt.
