<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact light emitting device and a display device, capable of suppressing uneven colors of illumination light emitted from the end part of a lighting unit or a space between adjacent lighting units. <P>SOLUTION: A light source 104 having the same color of emitted light as the color of emitted light which can be obtained by mixing the color of each light source 101-103 owned by the lighting unit 100 is disposed between the end part of the lighting unit 100 having a plurality of the light sources 101-103 emitting light of different colors and the lighting unit 100.
