PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure flow rates with high precision, by means of calculating flow rates with a flow rate calculation formula which corrects the quantization errors in spatial resolution. SOLUTION: Processes are nearly the same as those of the conventional system, up to the ultrasonic pulses being transmitted and received with ultrasonic transducer 3 and the like, the received signals are A/D-converted through prescribed processings, and the distributions of flow rate are determined by a flowrate distribution calculating section 11 in an operation control section 10. However, the calculation of the flowrate in a flowrate arithmetic processing section 12 is implemented, using the flowrate calculation formula with the quantization errors in the spatial resolution corrected.
