摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the reduction of throughput caused by interrupting communication for line quality determination processing performed between a transmission side and a reception side, in a mobile communication system which is based on an adaptive modulation scheme. SOLUTION: A modulation scheme control section 11 of a base station 1 sets a certain modulation scheme, modulates transmission data using the modulation scheme and transmits the data to a mobile station 2. The mobile station 2 demodulates original data and calculates line quality from the demodulated data. The calculated line quality information is multiplexed on the transmission data of the mobile station 2 and transmitted to the base station 1. The base station 1 demodulates a received signal and extracts the line quality information, and the modulation scheme control section 11 determines whether the modulation scheme used for next transmission data is to be used, based on the line quality.
