PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of botheration that, related to a TV monitor equipped with a plurality of external input terminals, a viewer must control volume each time an input signal is switched as the sound signal outputted from video signal sources connected to the external input terminal differs in case of analogue signal depending on machine type in amplitude level. SOLUTION: The image display device comprises a means for storing volume for each input terminal, a function for updating the storage of volume each time volume is controlled, and a function to output at the volume slightly lower than the stored volume just after switching operation of the input terminal and then raising volume up to the stored value as the stored volume is not necessary a suitable value then.
