PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AGC circuit, a gain control method of the AGC circuit, a program thereof, and a recording medium on which that program is recorded, for example, for reducing discomfort in listening to conversation, music, or the like, by applying to an IC recorder that is portable recording/reproducing equipment. SOLUTION: An input signal level L1cyc is detected in unit of a cycle of input signal, and a recovery time constant (r) is switched by determining the signal level detection result L1cyc based on a moving mean value Lavg of the input signal level L1cyc.
