PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric oscillator which is miniaturized and excellent in oscillation characteristic. SOLUTION: The piezoelectric oscillator is configured in such a way that a rectangular container 1 accommodating a piezoelectric vibration element 5 in its inside is fixed on a rectangular packaging base 6, on which an IC element 7 for outputting an oscillation signal corresponding to an oscillation frequency of the piezoelectric vibration element 5 is mounted via spacer members 12 disposed along the periphery of the base 6. In this oscillator, a resin material 13 is filled between the side surface of the IC element 7 and the side surfaces of the spacer members 12 so that the top surface of the IC element 7 is exposed.
