PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exhibit the backlash reducing performance of a scissors gear to the full by preventing a sub gear inclination, in an intermeshed rotation state of the scissors gear with a mating side gear. SOLUTION: The gear transmission device contains the scissors gear comprising a main gear 2, a sub gear installed adjacently to the main gear 2, a spring 7 engaged in the main gear and the sub gear at both ends respectively, a first stopper 5 and a second stopper 4 installed in the main gear and the subgear to stop both the ends of the spring. When the scissors gear and the mating side gear 8 rotate by engaging with each other, the drive torque fluctuates. When the drive torque reaches the peak, the second stopper 4 is arranged in the subgear so that the second stopper 4 is positioned near an engaging point P of both the gears. Thereby, the torque to incline the subgear making the engaging point P as a fulcrum is significantly decreased so as to enable the prevention of the subgear inclination. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
