PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder capable of surely performing reserved video recording processing. SOLUTION: In the recorder, each an HDD 16 and a DVD recorder 17 transmits a permission signal showing whether it can execute recording processing or not to a control part 10. For example, when the control part 10 executes the video recording processing by the HDD 16 according to video recording reservation information set to the HDD 16 and the DVD recorder 17, the part 10 determines whether the video recording by the HDD 16 is possible or not based on the permission signal from the HDD 16. When it is possible, the part 10 starts the video recording processing to the HDD 16 of a broadcast program shown by the video recording reservation information. On the other hand, when it is not possible, the part 10 determines whether it is possible to execute the video recording processing reserved to the HDD 16 by the DVD recorder or not and when it is possible, the part 10 starts the video recording processing to the DVD recorder 17 of the broadcast program shown by the video recording reservation information.
