PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the roundness of a treated cord and prevent irregularity of a core wire pitch line of a belt formed by using the treated cord in a cord-treating apparatus for treating a white-ground cord used as a core wire for industrial belts. SOLUTION: The cord-treating apparatus has a dipping means (dipping device) 20 for dipping the white-ground cord 2 and a drying means (drying furnace) 30 for drying the cord 2 dipped by the dipping means 20. In the cord-treating apparatus, V-shaped grooves are formed in the outer peripheral surfaces of a driving pulley 23 for feeding from the dip means 20 to the drying means 30 and pulleys 31, 32, 33 and 34 in a drying furnace 30. Each V-shaped groove is constituted of both V-shaped side parts provided so as to incline to the center line of V-shaped groove width and a V-shaped bottom part composed of a recessed circular arc surface provided so as to connect the both V-shaped groove side parts.
