PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woodfree paper having bulkiness, hardly causing reduction of rigidity, having high friction coefficient and excellent printing processability, and usable for a printing paper, a writing paper or the like, especially the fine paper suitably usable for an offset printing paper. SOLUTION: The woodfree paper having 0.20-0.75 dynamic friction coefficient is obtained by making a paper containing a paper quality-improving agent for internal filling, comprising a polymer emulsion containing a synthetic cationic polymer providing a 7 wt.% aqueous solution having≥20 mPas viscosity at 50°C, and having≤1.0 wt.% nitrogen content, and polymer particles containing a constituent unit derived from a vinyl monomer and having≤90°C glass transition temperature, and 5-40 wt.% filler.
